Guest Twixie Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 How do i get my homescreen to show how many off my buddies, there is online in msn? like this: Buddies.jpg
Guest Richie M Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 You cant Twixie i'm afraid, MS didn't actually release the Buddies Plug-in.
Guest NederSoren Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 would it be possible for someone else to do that plug-in?
Guest AngelOfRage Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 yeah id find that very useful... perhaps if it just displayed a icon when somebody new comes online would be enough
Guest mancuk29 Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 the only problem would be that you would neeed a always open gprs line which we all know doesnt exist cos orange charge the earth
Guest chucky.egg Posted August 22, 2003 Report Posted August 22, 2003 Is that true? I used to have a P800 and had the 12Planet IM running all day. I found that if I didn't use GPRS for anything else the actual amount transferred for IM was very small. I don't have my SPV yet (2 days late so far!) but I would expect it to be the same more or less.
Guest Animefan Posted August 22, 2003 Report Posted August 22, 2003 I have an SPV! I only pay for what I send not for being online? so IS it possible to make these Messenger like pop-up windows??? Pleease it would be nice to have em!!! :)
Guest AngelOfRage Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 im on UK Vodafone and have only been charged a matter of pence for my MSN usage... so is anybody capable of writing a plugin for this?
Guest blewer Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 You would need GPRS to stay online though. After a while it cuts off, doesn't it?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 MSN is usually enough data transfer to keep your GPRS connection alive...
Guest blewer Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 Sounds good to me then. Someone needs to develop this idea. Wish I could but not enough experience :)
Guest dculbert Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Wouldn't The GPRS connection cut off when a call or text came in? You would need an automatic GPRS dialer of sum kind?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Yep it does get cut off. In theory the connection is reopened when you finish your call, SmartPhone isn't every good at that though :)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Incidentally, that plugin never existed, the homescreen was a mockup for the customer :-) P
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 The original link seems to have gone. Anyone know who did the mock up, or who the customer was? I'd be happy to chip in if they can make it for us
Guest pisquee Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 In the press conference "Frist from orange" microsoft/orange video thing, i'm sure i remember the buddies online on homescreen thing was part of the original plan. (along with the other things that never got implemented)
