Guest JoelRae Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 Hi mate, SP Task Manager (requires your spv to be app-unlocked) has a "Format SD/MMC card" function 8) Take it easy, Joel
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 Another option is to get a card reader for the PC, this is also a must for transfering large files as it saves time. One place to find a card reader is www.ebuyer.com they have readers for around £10
Guest JoelRae Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 How do you format it from the pc? My 128mb card's on the way from ebuyer so I guess I should find out  also I'm looking at the PQI 6-in-1 reader for a tenner ... is that the one every has by the way or are you best off getting a more expensive one? Cheers, Joel
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 6in1 is what I now use, the only downside (as such) is that every time you plug it in you have four new removable drives :? As for formatting just right click the drive the card's in and choose format :)
Guest AdiesSPV Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 Hi All memory improvers, Am I thick or something? I received my ordinary 128 MB SD card from the shop and plugged it in. Bingo! Masses more room. Photos can automatically go on there direct, the PC link did the rest for transferring all my MP3s and just to make sure, I copied all on the old SD, onto my PC then onto the new SD. I noticed no difference. I found the phone cradle all I needed to link up. Hope you have had better luck since posting. A
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 You don't have to format the card but there's no harm in it. As for the phone cradle the whole point of suggesting a card reader is that transfering files is much quicker over USB, remember the phone only has a serial connector so when it comes to large files such as moviesbulk mp3 etc a card reader cannot be beaten compared to the cradle.
Guest chatfield Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 yeah that task manager option seemed to the job thanks
