Guest evilminky Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 just a question to ask if anyone is adding sound to doom or improving it in any way. also would it be possible to modify the game to be played in landscape i think that would be very cool. sorry i appreciate all the work that went into making it, and it is very good.
Guest Gorskar Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 why not send a pm to Mobden and ask if he is planning on making any improvements. I would love to see some progress on this game! Features I would really like to see are save/load and gamma controls
Guest unclelimey Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 i agree, its a great port , but is only good for a quick show off to your mates in the pub as long as there is no save game facility this games is crying out for a save game facility
Guest MECX Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 bout time some one released a FPS designed for the smartphone---i like doom but its a bit slow
Guest muff Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 mecx - doom is only slow if you are running the debug version the other version MBoden released runs at full speed, check it here :- http://www.bodenhoff.com/spv/doom.html on a side note I emailed MBoden the other day to ask for the source code to look at adding the save/load functions (and maybe the gamma stuff) - no response yet, but he's probably busy :)

When MBoden has time he does hope to continue his work.
Guest Arisme Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 nothing personal, but that's one of the strength of Open Source programs : everybody can contribute and send patches - since Doom is GPLed by ID Software, the source of this port must be downloadable ...
Guest muff Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 arisme : I agree, but I would feel wrong applying such pressure on a fellow free programmer
Guest MECX Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 mecx - doom is only slow if you are running the debug version . i just miss everything dont i :)
Guest Matt Kirby Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 i just miss everything dont i :) Don't worry, that caught me out for ages as well! Where would we be without the knowledge of MoDaCo? :o
Guest mromulod Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 anyone, i need help! why i cant download DOOMS. Problems on the site just keep on accuring? anyone pls... c",
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Where are you downloading it from? try the author MBoden's site. http://www.bodenhoff.com/spv/doom.html
Guest fraser Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Arisme's right, if Doom is GPL, mboden MUST release the source code. You aren't even allowed to offer binaries without the source being available from the same location, so he is already in violation of the GPL license. That's the rule.
