Guest dark_angel Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 Hello, Do you know where we can get Free Ebooks for the spv ??! Thanks.
Guest idavid Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 couple good places where you can pick up .txt files. http://gutenberg.net/ http://www.blackmask.com/ both pretty good. dont expect anything too new there though. good stuff includes, 1984, animal farm, alice in wonderland, the bible and koran!
Guest vijay555 Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 don't forget, if you convert them to html (use chainsaw - rip it into smallish chunks of say 30k each for easier loading), you can read them in Internet Explorer and use the "cleartype" html code to make it more readable. Works for me. V
Guest dark_angel Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 Oh thanks a lot. But just tell me how can i convert them. Do i need a software. Or just to change their extention??! i mean .html !! Thx
Guest vijay555 Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 You can get converters, and IE will read text files natively anyway, but you can convert text to html in its most basic form by just adding: The meta tag makes it cleartype. Not >that< much reason for doing this unless you want cleartype or don't have Orneta Notepad or equivalent on yoru phone.. V
Guest dark_angel Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 I have ornetareader. So i can just copy them in txt format and read them with the orneta...
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 I use Orneta Reader for ebooks in txt format, and I think it works really well. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest looeee Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 I tried to use OrnetaReadr but no matter how I set the font sizes, it seems to miss the odd line that didn't fit on the end of the page and never made it to the top of the next page I now use Speed Reader Plus from MobileDynamo. Takes some getting used to but I am now completely hooked. It is a lovely (if weird) way to read ebooks looeee
Guest coulhaus Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 You can also find lots of stuff over at textz.com (including most of Douglas Adams' books)
