Clearing data/delete all data

I am trying to delete all the data on my Orange SPV, ie all emails, sms and contact details, like a reformatt i guess. How do i do this? I need to do this as I am buying the phone 2nd hand and it has all the previous owners numbers etc, which i dont want and he doesnt want me to have, there is so much information it would take hours to delete it manually on by one.
