Guest cthulhu Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 I must be going senile.... I remember, in the early days of my SPV, being able to transfer SIM contact info to a phone contact and drop the number into the correct field (i.e. work, mobile, home) with the aid of a paste like function which appeared on the left soft button. However, I spent half an hour earlier unsuccessfully attempting to do this. Now presuming that I've lost these brain-cells during a pre-summer drinking binge, could anyone provide me with the correct steps :?:
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 There are no paste like functions as such but you do have the app SIM Manager :) where you have add to Contacts and Contacts to SIM options
Guest cthulhu Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 Yeah, but that just gives me a new contact with a number in the 'home' field. Some combination of SIM Manager & Contact menus takes a phone number from the SIM Contact and allows you to paste it into whatever field in the Contact you select - the left soft button is redefined to do this paste operation although I can't remember what label its given. I know I didn't dream it, because I used it before to populate my current contacts.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Sorry, I've never seen it or heard of it mentioned before :?
Guest PeeWee Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 thats what it was doing when i first added all my numbers :?: I dont know how tho. I know this post was no help, sorry :)
Guest cthulhu Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Sussed It :) :o :P :( Ok - here's the drill... 1) Go into contacts and scroll up to the ones with the sim icons. 2) Locate the one with a number you wish to move to a contact and press 'action'. 3) Move down to 'number' and press the left softkey 'save'. 4) You will be transported back to the contacts list with 'new item' selected. 5) If this is a new contact, Press 'action' and enter the name details. 6) Scroll down to the phone number field you want to paste the number into (i.e. home, work, mobile etc.).... 7) Press the left softkey 'insert'. 8) Voila! The number is pasted into the field. 9) Press the left softkey 'done' Now you can go back and get another number for the same contact following steps 1-4, but instead of step 5, as we already have the contact saved, scroll down to find her/him and press 'action'. Continue from step 6. Phew!
