Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Excellent :) off to download, cheers
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 WOW this is excellent :) :o :P and only your second post, thanks Added to news Edit Just noticed the free memory indicator nice :(
Guest Gorskar Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Wow, what an app - I love how it grabs the record button to allow easy task management. I think this one might well become a permanent addition to my phone! 1 minor suggestion though - the memory indicator would be better off saying how much memory is free rather than percentage used in my opinion. Other than that - supurb!
Guest Speedy Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Very nice indeed. Love the app. A few thoughts for the creator. Customizing the name and the dest. of the 7890 keys in the app would be top nice. Great app :) :o
Guest davy Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 How do I install the Alt Tab template skin? Unfortunately I don't speak French  davy.
Guest Gorskar Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Well I've just spend 5 minutes with google translate and a little common sense to translate the readme file that goes with it. Hope that helpsxbar.txt
Guest Gorskar Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Very nice indeed. Customizing the name and the dest. of the 7890 keys in the app would be top nice. I thought you could do that already? Just make links called 7.lnk 8.lnk 9.lnk and 0.lnk linking to whatever apps you like, and put them in the same folder as xbar. Brilliant!
Guest Xetra Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 How do I install the Alt Tab template skin? Unfortunately I don't speak French  davy. Unzip files in the same folder as xbar.exe you can also make a shortcut of xbar.exe in the startup folder.

Hope that helps Good translation but Problem of adding apps to list when the keyboard is attached = Display problem when then keyboard is locked.

Guest Jakob Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 This is a super application - but how to install the XPlook of the taskbar?? /Jakob
Guest Myke Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 it doesnt work on my phone.. i moved the 3 files to my storage card, made a shortcut to xbar.exe in the startup folder and start menu folder. it doesnt load the program on startup and if i try to run it through the start menu, i click it one and it doesnt to anything and then i click it again and "xbar" appears up top but it feezes. ive downloaded and installed it twice.. im also using the SAP, but that shouldnt make a difference. .. okay the program just loaded after about a minute and the skin isnt loading. does this program need to be installed on the phone, not the storage card?
Guest Xetra Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 This is a super application - but how to install the XPlook of the taskbar?? /Jakob Use the internal skin (delete xbar.bmp and xbar.ini from the xbar.exe folder)
Guest amo Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Excellent application Xetra, downloading it now. Does it fully support skins then?

Ok it's a bug It'works without skin because xbar can't load xbar.bmp from StorageCard but can read xbar.ini. With the beta 3, you must use only xbar.exe without skin if you put xbar.Exe in the sotrage card, else store it on IPSM regards
Guest spacemonkey Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 OK, this seems like a cool little app. However, it does seem to slow my phone down... I was running muffs SPVLife and it was noticably slower with xbar running than without. When in background mode is xbar just sitting waiting for a message or is it somehow more actvely watching the voice record button?
Guest Gorskar Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 I guess instead of watching for a voice record press it could just change the registry value?
Guest looeee Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Xetra in case you missed it. Its the registry key documented here thanks by the way, lovely app looeee
Guest Xetra Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 2 cool new skin  i'm waiting yours ! :) -- >Download <-- &
Guest Xetra Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Xetra in case you missed it. Its the registry key documented here thanks by the way, lovely app looeee actually, after run xabr, it will remain in memory. And when you click on record key, the OS will send a "wake up" message to xbar. the xbar is already in memory and don't need to reload skin. i have made some improvments, say me if this version is slow ? Xbar b3.1 but you can also test a registry edition : Xbar beta 3 reg edition This version reload skin for each record key click (xbar is not in memory) you must manually edit the registry can you try it and tell me if this version slow down your phone ? there is a bug when display message box (3) or help (#) tell me witch version your prefer. (these 2 version are beta beta, not really tested) Xet'
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 @xetra How can I delete the xbar.exe file from my phone? I placed it directly (not as shortcut) in IPSMWndowsStartup folder. I used Active Sync and SmartExplorer but I get an error message saying "unable to delete" or "cannot delete file xbar:access is denied" I also tried to overwrite the first version with the b3.1 version but still I cant. :?:
Guest davy Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Have you tried closing app with Task Manager first then deleting it? davy.
Guest Crispy Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 A little (ripped) test-skin. A real anoying thing is the missing ICONPOSX command! Should be added azap :) ... and maybe a ICONNUMBER command too, for more control ...Wackytech.zipWackytech.gif
