Guest schadow1 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 What other players available for download for smartphone are capable for WMV Playback. I like WMV's quality but I don't like the very limited controls of the default Windows Media Player. There is no way you can lock the keypad or scan the video while playing the video with Media Player. Thanks for any help.
Guest spv_dman Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 PocketMVP (freeware) and PocketTV (shareware). But it plays .avi format. What you can do is convert your wmv to avi to play it. I use Dr. DivX for conversion. PocketMVP can do fast forward and it has an option so the backlight won't turn off unlike WMP. I haven't tried PocketTV yet.
Guest schadow1 Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Thanks dud! I already tried pocketmvp but it won't show my files. I guess it really has to be with an avi extension before it can be played. I have installed PocketTV also but it can only play MPG files. I guess PocketMVP is for DIVX only. Anyway, I haven't tried Dr. Divx yet. I'm using VirtualDub in ripping DVDs to DiVX but it has more settings to be able to manually use a different audio codec. Can PocketMVP read AVI DIVX files with encoded MP3 audio or it will only read DIVX AVI files with normally encoded audios? Thanks for any help.

Guest R122273 Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 guys! i tried the PocketMVP it's quite slower than PocketTV..and if you want to use media player try to convert from VCD movies in Dr. Divx with handheld format then in Movie Maker for XP. it's cool! i tried T3 Disc1 about 47MB, but you need MMC/SD to store it.... :)
Guest The PocketTV Team Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 PocketMVP (freeware) and PocketTV (shareware). PocketTV Classic (freeware) PocketTV Enterprise Edition (commercial) also: Simple Guide for making MPEG's optimized for Smartphone go to www.pockettv.com to download...

Guest spv_dman Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 where can i download Dr. Divx from? 14-day trial here: http://www.divX.com
Guest pyke Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 14-day trial here: http://www.divX.com downloaded the demo version but i cant use it.i'm being asked for a serial number.where can i get a serial number for the trial version?
Guest spv_dman Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 I downloaded it from there. It worked for me, the 14 day trial that is, unless there's a new version and they've made changes on how they distribute their sharewares. Maybe there's a post installation option there that will let you bypass the serial number prompt? If only the installer is small I can email it to you but it's 10Mb man :)
