Guest Jassper23 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 hellp po :) Anybody know a free email that will work for SAP :?:
Guest rodnav Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 you can use hotmail by using the internet explore and the msn mobile link. you'd still be charge gprs usage though.
Guest grifter Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 try hotpop.com you can configure your SAP's built-in smtp/pop3 client to retrieve mail.
Guest mariolouis Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 unfortunately, nothing comes for free coz you still have to connect to the net (via gprs or dialup). i used to have a hotpop account using globe but globe has already blocked port 110 (incoming) and port 25 (outgoing) which is usually used by pop3/smtp mail servers.
Guest grifter Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 hmm... are ports 25 & 110 also blocked when using the internet.globe.com.ph APN?
Guest ses Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I am using inter.net free email and I can send and retireve mail via inbox options. It works perfectly well.
Guest mariolouis Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 @grifter nope. it is not blocked with the internet.globe.com.ph apn. @ses yes inter.net email account is free but connecting to it (via gprs or dialup)is not. you still get charged.
Guest ses Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 yup! thats why if ever i use it, i choose to download only the headings, and download important emails when necessary.
Guest grifter Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 @mario, so it's only blocked when using www.globe.com.ph APN?
Guest Jassper23 Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Thanks po... gusto ko lang naman free email and I can set it on my SAP... normal naman talaga na me SPAMyaran sa GRPS access lalo na provider smart... kung sa globe wala rin marami talagang naka block.
Guest Rolandml Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 try hotpop.com you can configure your SAP's built-in smtp/pop3 client to retrieve mail. how much naman and rate pag retrieve ka ng email? GRPS rate yun right?
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 yes inter.net email account is free but connecting to it (via gprs or dialup)is not. you still get charged. not all the time.. If you use Pass Through Connection, then you can download emails into your inbox without being charged, right? Well, you get charged by yourr ISP for using dial-up on your desktop though...but not by Smart/Globe :)
Guest Rolandml Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 not all the time.. If you use Pass Through Connection, then you can download emails into your inbox without being charged, right? Well, you get charged by yourr ISP for using dial-up on your desktop though...but not by Smart/Globe :o thanks for the information :) Yup that is my current settings but sometime me download akong attachment like 175 kb that means me charge na or wala parin?
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Yup that is my current settings but sometime me download akong attachment like 175 kb that means me charge na or wala parin? With Pass Through, since you are using dial-up and not GPRS, then I think walang charge sa Globe/Smart yun (?)
Guest grifter Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 yup. when using pass thru, there will be no gprs charges. just keep your eye on the little G. :)
Guest Jassper23 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 yup. when using pass thru, there will be no gprs charges. just keep your eye on the little G. :o hmm So it means if you see the G icon you are still being charge for it right? I have tried the steps to set my sap for pass through connection but I still get the G icon when retrieving mail is there other setting that I need to set for it to work?... I have set hotpop for my mail by the way. Also...does it need a computer connected to internet to use that feature? Maraming salamat :)
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 with pass through, it is your desktop PC that is directly connected to the internet....so ys, you need a PC connected to the internet :) In Active Sync, go to Tools, Options, Rules then choose Internet for Pass Through.
Guest grifter Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 i'm referring to te little G on top of the signal meter and not the Big Daddy G in the middle of the top tray. :)
Guest dewslat Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 There is a free way to have email only on gprs in globe... Go to Yahoo You can even access thru your Yahoo MSGer.. Its a little slow but at least its free...
Guest mariolouis Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 i would like to access my hotmail account using wap. it returns an error everytime i sign in. anyone. tia!
Guest mariolouis Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 after typing in my username and password, then clicking on submit, the error says "unable to connect. verify your dialup or proxy settings are correct, and try again."
Guest grifter Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 hmmm... it also happens when i use mm.yahoo.com but after some time, it worked. btw, i am using webwapselect. :)
Guest mariolouis Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 mm.yahoo.com or wap.oa.yahoo.com posts no problem with me. and i also use webwapselect. i just can't seem to logon in msn/hotmail. i interchanged my smart and globe sims, changed apn's, changed phones.. (i use my trusty old t68i), to no avail.
Guest grifter Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 strange. did you manage to make it work before?
