Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 The SendSMS application by Dr. Neil Roodyn has now been updated to version 1.1... get it here!. This software allows you to send an SMS (aka Text Message) directly through you phone just by typing it on your PC. Thanks Gears @ CoolSmartPhone for the heads up (and the screenshot...)! I've had a play, and the application works well... P
Guest Brody Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 hmm, is that a t68i keypad on his homepage?
Guest James Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 wow! just tried it... its great! i dont have to take my phone out the cradle to send a message now!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Would be super cool if Dr N released the source :) P
Guest Tomas Kocanda Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I´m not sure, what version I tested before, but I removed it, re-installed the latest and error is the same - I cannot use TO: button as application crash every time when I hit this button.
Guest fraser Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Works OK for me as well. Get this though...if we had the source code for this, you might be able to port it to VBScript and have it as a macro in Outlook. With some clever coding and neat tricks, it would be fully integrated with it. You could send a message to both e-mail and SMS if done right.
Guest axe Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I can use the TO: button fine unlike Tomas..., I can also send messages just fine ... however when i try and send a 3 part sms .. i get 'There appears to be a problem sending the message, the error is : Object reference not set to an instance of an object'
Guest b1uepower Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 this app is really cool.. now its easy to send one message to loads of people... made life so much easyer :)
Guest Garytje Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 I've downloaded it, but get an error message saying SMSSender does not work and no addittional error info is available. And I DO have the .NET Framework Library 1.1 installed, can anybody help me?
Guest alanmcd Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 This is great! thanks Dr Roodyn. I get the error from the To button but I can continue just fine. I am also using the QTEK7070 in Australia and have no problem - seems to go against the "signing" requirements no? One suggestion - how about a checkbox to make the message a flashmessage? that would be just great. thanks Alan "]The SendSMS application by Dr. Neil Roodyn has now been updated to version 1.1... get it here!.
