Strange Phantom Calls

Hiya Everyone,

Just wondered if anyone has been experiencing phantom calls on their call history. Occasionally I look at the call history and it says I've called people, normally in quick succession and for a few seconds (once or twice for 1 to 2 mins - and yes I even checked by ringing the folk up again and they've said, 'No, you didn't call me') each which I know that I have no way called. This has even happened when the phone has has no signal(eg in a Tube). I'm a bit confused :? as I check the keypad lock and it's on. I don't know if the software is just randonly mixing up my previous calls in the registar and assigning todays date to it or what. Just seems wierd.

Do you think my phone (SPV) is just deciding to have a life of it's own and that I should call Orange Care and try to get them to fix it for me.

Any ideas and suggestions would be great.

Cheers

Paddy :?

Will,

Haven't changed the time since i got thr phone but interesting that you mentioned the 31st July/1st August. It did happen more over that period (at one point my phone history told me I'd called 5 people in 1minute!!!) but it has been happening intermittenly for a while.

The calls seem to vary from 1 second to the 2 minute 1 second (the longer one i checked by ringing the person up as I thought I should apologise for phoning them by mistake whilst the phone was in my pocket - that's when I found out that I didn't phone them and key lock was on,etc)

Any ideas?

the only reason is that some apps/OS's forget about the number of days in august, hence it would doubleup calls over the days.

I would ring orange billing and check if the calls were charged. (you will need numbers and dates and times.)

Only other thing i can suggest is that you did not have calendar appointments for those people and had 'call now' activated (i cannot remember exactly how it works.??)

NB: Activesync will sync the time on your PC with the time on your phone automatically...

Hmm yeah, this happened to me a little while ago....

My spv was sitting on the table minding it's own business, while I was sorting a few things out. Suddenly started ringing. Nothing wrong with that u may ask, phones have a habit of doing such things. I didnt manage to get to it in time, and when I got to it, and checked the missed calls log, the funny thing was that the number that had called was MY landline, which was impossible as I was the only person in the house, and was putting my coat on ready to leave for work at the time. Most odd. Only happened the once.

Thanks for all the replies and advice so far. Does anythink I should be concerned?

It sounds as if the SPV goes a little 'eerie Indiana' occasionally. Erm...

I have had that where the phone rings but nobody is calling, and then when you answer it it displays 'unable to answer call' no matter how hard you press that answer button!

Can't figure it out, I just assume I am hallucinating.....

What's this 'call now' thing? never seen that on my phone. :?

I've had it several times as well where i've been unab;e to answer calls, and an analogous things happens on outgoing calls sometimes. I forget what it says exactly, something like 'dialling error'. :x

You could make a ghost movie about something like that? Anyone remember "The Ring".

:) haha yes, the Ring was funny. Or maybe I was drunk when I watched it. I posted before that a thing like this happened before to me. It was 4am mid-term, and I was still up playing with the computer or similar, when it started ringing. It then stopped a second later, so I phoned the girl it was from back. Being a history student she went to sleep 4 hours earlier and was not too happy being woken up by a CS student claiming that her Siemens i35 which was happily sitting on her desk just phoned me up.

I think the SPVs get lonely not talking to anyone and simply want to chat? Or maybe they have a secret life of their own and are plotting to take over the world?
