new message indicator disappears before reading message

hi, is it normal that the new message indicator on the status bar should disappear before the new message is actually read? At the moment all I need to do is open the inbox, return to the homescreen and the indicator is gone..without actually reading a new message. Or is this a function of the current skin that is in use?

hi franky, I've just tried this by marking an sms as unread then returning to the homescreen (currently the modaco skin :wink:) ... sure enough, I get my alert, and go to the inbox where I see the new message. On returning to the homescreen without reading the message, the icon disappears so yes, it would appear to be another little "feature" :)
