Guest saldy Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 I downloaded some MIDI/*.mid polyphonic tones which I thought can be used as a regular ringtone or sms alert tone but the problem is when i copied it to my SmartPhone the sound is either an alert or a garbled sound. I thought Smartphones can handle MIDI files? Is there a software out there that could compensate the existing inability of my smartphone? That is to play Polyphonic MIDI tones? Attached is a sample file.

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Welcome to the site :o Inability to play a replicated sound? when the phone can play the original :) The phone plays .wav and midi0
Guest Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 If you need some .wavs that are guaranteed to work on the SPV have a look at the ones done by Simon Desser. The original thread is http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=66965>here, and all the tones (apart from those posted within the last week) are hosted on my website, details http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=87667>here. As awarener said- why replicate when your phone can play the original! Hope that helps!
