Does Speedup from Midnight work on updated ROMs?

Hi, I just installed updated ROM for Philippine Smartphones released by Smart Communications. Will the speedup utilities written by midnight still work or is it being made redundant by the ROM update? Thanks.

I tried the new ROM with it and without it and there was no noticeable differences. Others may be more keen in spotting the diff...
