Backlight not working properly on Green Call Pickup button?

Hi - my phone doesn't illuminate the green call pick up button, and i noticed that other peoples phones on here don't either. I spoke to both Orange customer care and the people in the retail outlet i bought them from and they said they should illuminate.

After 2 replacements now being sent out and refusing to accept both of them due to the same "problem" im wondering if these people at Orange even know what they are on about!

Does anyone out there actually have an SPV E100 with a green call pick up button that actually illuminates? Does anyone know for sure, if they are supposed to light up, or - for some unknown reason - be the only key on the pad with no backlight?

Thanks

My e100's green dial button does turn on the backlight when the keys are unlocked but not when they are. I noticed that the e100's manual stated that the righthand softkey should turn on the backlight when the keys are locked when it should have said the lefthand one! Posted from my SmartPhone!

hi i think you misunderstood what i was asking

Just to clarify - my green call pick up button (the one with the phone receiver on the left hand side of the phone) will turn the backlight on when the keypad is unlocked.

However, what im actually talking about here is, should this key be backlit, when the backlight is on? I.e. should i see either a green or red light behind this call pick up button when the backlight is on? It's just dark - it's the only key that is not backlit.

Hope that makes sense - anyone who has got a call pick up key that is illuminated when the backlight is on, can you let me know.

Thanks

I don't own an E100, but looking at the pics here http://www.smartphonefrance.info/tanager.asp it seems to show 6 LED's lighting the whole of the keypad (like the original SPV).

Bearing that in mind if one of your LED's wasn't working then the entire upper left sixth of your keypad also wouldn't get lit up?

Also, what colour are the LED's in the E100? Someone mentioned orange? If so then an green plastic lit by an orange LED might not be that bright anyways?

Best thing to do would be a search on the forum for some more pics of the E100, there's plenty. Then compare yours :)

Mark.

I do own an e100, sorry for the misunderstanding! :?

I can see what u mean about the Green button looking like it is the only one that is not illuminated. I think that this is because the transparency is less on it compared to that of the red "hang up" button. Try it in pitch black and you'll see that the red does slightly show through. There is not supposed to be a green light behind it i'm afraid!
