Guest Maverick333 Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Just wondering if it`s possible  :?:
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Mmmm, both microsoft systems. Isn't the XBOX based on windows CE too? I know the Dreamcast was. What would you use it for? I can only think of using it as a memory card replacement. Don't think GPRS is fast enough for Live! :) You'd probally need to install some drivers on the xbox and modify a data cable to match the xbox usb connectors. Mind you, if you can get linux on it, why not activesync!
Guest vijay555 Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 um. why would you do this? what do you need from the phone that you've got on xbox, and vice versa? i spose at a push you could emulate a memory card for xbox, but since they only cost £2, why? you could possibly ftp to evo-x if you wanted to - has anyone done an ftp app for smartphone? but again, why? you'd need to ethernet into your xbox, or usb thru cradle to pc to xbox, but then u don't need the phone if u've got ur pc. about controlling smartphone thru xbox, u'd have to right a homebrew usb controller driver, but that's eluded better people than me - possibly linux solution might work... now if you could write an IRDA protocol for SPV to communicate through IR sensor on xbox... :) V
Guest dewslat Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Whats the point? I have an XBOX and there are no multitasking tool for us to use SMARTPHONE while playing.. totally weird...
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 You could theoretically install Linux on the XBox, install Ximian Evolution (like Outlook), use it for mail etc. and sync your smartphone to it using Multisync and SynCE? That'd be pretty cool... :) P
Guest Brody Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 XBOX is based upon Windows 2000 kernel not CE.
