Guest Terwin Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 It's just another cab to install on the Mio 8380. They bundle it with the Mitac. If you're missing the cab for it just install the installer for your 8380 at: http://www.mitacservice.com/visitor/fcabdl...p?fid=115758244
Guest Lojt Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 It says 'Error, cant find j9midpng' when trying to launch a game...
Guest Terwin Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 See Arisne's post in this thread: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=88304 It mentions that second cab. It comes preinstalled on my 8380, so up to you to figure it out :)
Guest maxh2003 Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 I've got it working. I had to install both CAB files to the phone, not the SD card, else I too got the "cannot find..." error. Also, I had to create the folder IPSMTemp and put the Metris.jar file in there. Who'd have thought it? Actual, honest-to-God Java on SPVs! Cheers to Smartphone France, and I suppose to Mitac too...
Guest SmartphoneFrance Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 You must install the two cabs files :)
Guest Lojt Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 I installed both, but on my SD card... I'll try to install them on the phone now.
Guest SmartphoneFrance Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Yes you must install them on phone ... not on the storage card.

Guest muff Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 metalstrike can be found in one of those downloads as well :) there are also some other apps on the mio such as a task manager that spv owners don't get by default (of course we get great freeware versions instead :o)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Just a word of warning. After installing everything, me and Paul have both had to hard reset our phones ;p Trying to work out which app is killing it now...
Guest muff Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 oops personally I only installed MetalStrike, and the taskmanager just to look at it didn't feel confident about installing everything (which looks like the right decision :) ) sorry guys
Guest maxh2003 Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Were they any good? FWIW here's a list of the CAB files that make up the Mitac software download: Casino.CAB CStar.CAB game.CAB game2.CAB MIDI.CAB PhoneBackup.CAB PhoneCity.CAB PhoneExplorer.CAB PhoneMenu.CAB PhoneReader.CAB Taskmgn.CAB
