Guest Crispy Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Just saw this in my local newspaper: http://www.softava.com/q12/concept.htm Sounds like a pretty cool concept to me! Good for SPV3?? What do you think? :)
Guest JoelRae Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 I dunno, looks like it's got potential but would take A LOT of getting used to  And would need a bigger keypad than my spv, for sure!!
Guest idavid Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 i have problems just pressing one button ob the spv keypad as it is, having to aim at three different ones sounds like hard work. imagine trying to compose a text message while drunk :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Finally a keypad for those with large fingers :)
Guest SeaneyC Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Didn't they try this on some american handset with actual keys inbetween the numbers? Looks pretty awful to me, i can't imagine it being much quicker than the normal setup, even if you did get used to it. The opportunity for mashing the wrong buttons seems a bit high.
Guest Maverick Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Hope it doesnt become a standard !! I would stop using mobile phones...
Guest goinnuts Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 after a txt conversation you'd have cuts all over your thumbs. could save you money though :)
Guest solo Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 The future isn't intricate keyboards - its voice recognition. Why spend loads of time and money developing these finger based input systems when your voice could do the job hands free? Voice recognition has come a long way since consumers where first introduced to it. True, it still might not be perfect, but the technoogy is pretty much there. I recon that even though voice recognition is not foolproof, it is still going to be better than the solution discussed at the top of this thread! Solo
Guest squall Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 im reminded of the simpsons when homer deliberatly puts on weight so he can work from home then his computer breaks and his fingers are to fat to dial the plant on the telephone...
Guest Brody Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 i'm open to the idea although i think that anyone who uses t9 often can touch type with it tbh!
Guest MECX Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Didn't they try this on some american handset with actual keys inbetween the numbers? Looks pretty awful to me, i can't imagine it being much quicker than the normal setup, even if you did get used to it. The opportunity for mashing the wrong buttons seems a bit high. yes i think it was on tomorrows world but it was like little nipples next inbetween each key for the numbers and the keys were still used for the letters. the thing above looks horrid tho :?
