Hi,

I have received this error message yesterday:

"The SIM is invalid or cannot be detected. Verify that you have a valid SIM and that it is inserted properly. If the problem persists, contact your customer service centre for assistance."

The phone is stuck on this screen and I am unable to access anything at all. I've tried switching the phone off, taking the SIM in and out etc etc loads of times but to no avail. It is possible to enter an 8 digit number onto the error screen, which I guess is some kind of security code or something?

I'm waiting to hear back from Orange at the moment, but I thought I'd give you guys a try as you're always helpful and prompt. Any ideas anyone?

i have had this message twice on the SPV but a re-power solved it both times on mine... good luck with orange :)

give the gold bit of the sim card a rub with your finger, ive had this before with other phones, due to dust and dirt, so with any luck it might be the same.

Had tried both of these techniques time and again but with no luck. A friend who's also an SPV owner had a go once and fixed it the bugger! Technology hates me, must be my magnetic personality!

So sorted now hoorah! Cheers guys! :)
