Welcome to the site :)

As it's an E-100 you have to downgrade the bootloader to a version below V0.98

the E-100 is running V1.00.

Only downgrade if you know waht you are doing and feel confident because if you make a mistake

and do not follow the instructions to the letter you can kill your phone.

awarner do you have the complete steps to perform this procedure for E100 with bootloader 1.0? There seems to be a lot of different ideas on this site and others but i'm looking for the "defacto" procedure before i risk killing my E100.

Thanks!

Basically all you have to do is go to www.monolithix.org and download the update,

Now my method is slightly different to others, but that could be because I have a quirky xp laptop :?

1,OK power off the phone, then press and hold the record button while powering back on so you are now

in the Canary screen.

2, With the phone connected to the PC reboot the PC (I know it seems pointless but it's the only way I can get it to work :?)

3, Now run the update and follow the instructions as they are displayed.

And that's it, on restart the phone may take a while to boot up the first time.

Thanks for your advice.

Managed to sort the bootload downgrade to 1.35 and unlock the SIM by using SPVUNLOCK.

One very happy non-Orange SPV owner :)

*********one thing that i did notice is that the SIM unlock code automatically displays a wrong PIN atempt and times out for 4 minutes before you can enter the code, after that HAPPY DAYS*******
