Guest tormod Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Hi! Just wonder what programs you are using when making homescreens. I have made some web pages but I use adobe golive, so I’m not used to written codes.. Are there some similar programs like the golive that can be used? I have read thru the “Emulater or XML viewer.. ” tread so I understand there is some problem with view the finished result.. Thank!
Guest Machineman Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Hi m8, First of all Welcome To make home screens the best program you can use is the notepad from windows  It workes with codes  but you can easaly take an existing one to rip the plugins and modify them to your own home screen. Or folow this link plugin. There are a lot ofd plugins you can cut and paste. About the colors you can go to: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...7379&highlight= CU M8
Guest vijay555 Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Ultraedit and lots of reboots: my tip - edit on PC (!), but save as two versions Eg: working on Skin "VJSexy" -Save VJSexy [filename vjsexy.home.xml, homescreen name VJSexy] -Try it on SPV -Get irritated and want to redit - save second version as Homescreen name VJSexy2, filename VJsexy2.home.xml this way, when you go into homescreen settings in control panel, you don't have to change homescreen to Orange or s.thing else, then back again to the updated version, this way you can juggle 2 versions and save half the time of reloading a skin. My tip, hope it makes sense! V
Guest Machineman Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Hey that's something new I never thought about it ha ha ha. Thanx
Guest tormod Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 The copy/past I’m very familiar with.. lol I’ve done a lot of programming in the past, (plc) and when I see a program list I usually understand what’s happening, and I use the c/p quite often even when I use golive. I know a lot of web designers that hate programs like the golive, but still I can do the same as they. Just faster.. :) that’s the reason I’m looking after a similar program for the xml. I’m a hobby photograph, and have worked with programs like PS over 6-7 years now, so the design/image part should not be a problem. Thanx!!!
Guest Machineman Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Hi, ha ha I whis I had experience with those progs to be able to make some of my own. Guest tormod Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 I’m promising you, to learn what you need to know for making images in this size, all you need is 1t.. you all out here are so familiar with win and the program structure of the win progz, that it should be prize of cake to learn to do image editing.. After all, the images you are making aren’t going to be a size of many cm and then it’s not that easy to se if you are a novice or an expert.. Just start playing with a program like PS and I promise that you’ll be quite pleased with the result!! Hi, ha ha I whis I had experience with those progs to be able to make some of my own.
