Modified "kl1wdr" Minimal Skin - Neostream

I modified kl1wdr's minimal skin. Some asked that I share it.

The background in from www.neostream.com (cool site...check it out!)

I cant create this stuff on my own...but I have fun modifying other's work! Thanks to the originators. :)

I also added a hidden links screen which can be activated by scrolling all the way down and clicking the action key. (a la Modaco Homescreen). This does not work on the Tanager's as I think the plugin is different and I don't know how to compensate for that. You may be able to change the clsid yourself to match that of your phone(last plugin in the xml.) This version definitely works on SPVs (and maybe others)...but the rest all works.

You can change/add links by editing the neolinks.html in notepad or an html editor.

To install...drop all 4 files into your home directiory.

Great skin, I love it!

I had problems with it, because the XML didn't list the background image.  I hope you don't mind but I've edited the XML and posted an update here (the only change is the addition of the bgimage to the I dont know why I didnt do that. I think because I was used to making simple skins where you could choose the background of your choice. But I should have done that here. Thanks.

Since this was dug up from a few months ago...

...Don't forget that the links (right screenshot) screen only works on Orange phones. Everything else works on all phones.

If your phone in fact has a shortcut plugin and it's not an SPV or e100...you need to change the plugin registry number in the XML to match the shortcut plugin on your phone....

...unless someone else figured out a better way to do that!

is there a way you can make the "Links" menu work for the Tanager?

It depends if the tanager if you have has the shortcut plugin.

For example....

The Orange phones come with a certain homescreen with links for sports, news, etc.

Open the XML for that homescreen,

Copy the ID# for that plugin.

Replace the number on the Neostream Shortcut plugin with that one.

If the phone does not have the shortcut plugin installed in ROM by the operator, then I'm not sure there is anything you can do.

Maybe someone else could shed more light on this.

As far as i'm aware there are two versions of it, one supplied by Orange and another one (which ROM has this i do not know :?) and both have different CLSID's

i'm not that good in doing some skins or modifying one... i only want to try if i can make it on my phone... what if i've upgraded my rom to qtek 1.50.9.1, is it possible to do it there?

Which phone do you currently have?

Which ROM is currently on the phone?

I'll have to ask if the QTek has a shortcut plugin included. I think it does, but I'll check.

i've the SPVx (Tanager)... and it's rom version is already a qtek 1.50.9.1...

Dude:

You have to help me help you.

I don't have Smartphone with the QTek ROM so you have to get me something if you can.

Go to Settings > Home Screens

See if there is a FULL homescreen. It should be one that probably has the large MRU icons at the top of the screen. There may be some shortcuts a bit lower on the screen. News, Weather, Sports, etc.

If you see this the the Qtek ROM has the shortcut plugin. Make sure you look thru all of your default homescreens.

If you do have this, find the XML file in your IPSM/Windows directory. Open that XML file in notepad. Look for the plugin that has the Weather, Sports etc. Tell me what the CLSID# of that plugin is.

Or...just email me that XML file. (You may have to zip it for it to go thru).
