Guest Brody Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Weird, i've never experienced this, let alone with the keylock on... :?
Guest squall Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 just a though but is your battery tight fit, or has it ever been dropped?
Guest the-jackal Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 I haven't dropped it at and the battery seems quite snug so im lost. Its not a real problem just a pain up the butt when im expecting a call and when i look the bloody phone is off. Cheers any way. Anyone else got any ideas.
Guest the-jackal Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Ok this is really getting on my tits now. It has turned off 4 times today :x Please someone give me a clue as to what i can do. Im tempted to launch it out the window at the moment

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 Almost sounds like the Power button is partially sticking :?

Guest Vector Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 Have you rung Orange Customer services yet ?, seems your only option :)
Guest the-jackal Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 Yeah what a great help they are. No one knows stuff all about the E100 and i keep getting told i will be contacted by their technical team within 24 hours. That was thursday last week. Phoned them today and i get told i will need to wait 2 days.
Guest the-jackal Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 quick update. Orange changed my E100 for a nice new one. Great i thought. IT STILL TURNS ITSELF OFF. On the plus side i know what it is so please will someone try this. If i push my SD card slightly (not enough to eject it) the screen goes all freaky and eventually fades to nothing. TURNED OFF. F*!@s me off no end. Am i the only one? If this continues i will have to change my phone but i want a smartphone with all the trates of my E100 any recomendations?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 I would suggest you try a different card before blaming the phone :? I have just tried it on three phone and cannot replicate it at all. So the common facter you seem to have is the card, as you have not stated that you have used different cards with this problem.
Guest Will Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 only other thing that you might say 'doh' or shut up Will! to is: does pressing the left softkey, or the home button magically turn you phone back on?? is it just the screensaver activating? Just a thought? also have you got any alarm plugins, or wierd calendar entries? Will
Guest the-jackal Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 OK Guys i have sussed it out. If i press the keypad with my thumb over a few keys (2,5,and8) with a bit of preasure (to simulate it in my pocket) the screen fades and dies. Its not the SD card at all. Spoke to a very helpfull Orange rep (Well done Gary) there are very few of you, who aranged for a replacement phone to be sent out today after six. I hope this one works. Failing that i will have to get rid of my E100  I cant handle it any more.
Guest the-jackal Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 HELP ME!!!!!!!! I am now on my 4th E100 and this wont work either. Orange keep saying that they can only replace a like for like phone and i cant get a 3650 or any other smart phone unless i pay a further £100 to upgrade plus the price of the hand set. What a load of tosh. I only upgraded to the E100 in July Waited for my contract to run out and paid £120 for the hand set. I aint really used it cos it wont f*&%"ng work. They all turn off. Any ideas? I am now really pi*!ed off. When the E200 comes out i may get that. Seeing as i have spent well over£150 on bits and bobs for my E100. Come on Orange get your act together. I have been with you for 6 Years. I am now seriousely looking at other networks. Any help would be welcome.
Guest mikey1234 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 i had same problem.... FIX: programs/settings/power managements/screen saver mode set it to none good luck let me know if it works :)
