I did the update earlier today, and the spv are getting much faster

But i cannot se the phone in mobile device anymore in windows xp, a bit strange.

The only thing different is there is an app in the Programs menu

that is called STK Service? is that similar to the Orange update?

And it's not app locked :o :P :( :lol: :lol:

I've got it running on the SPV :)

remember the SPV and the E-100 are the same phone except a few design change

and the screen.

Paul - it's a more useful upgrade then Imate as far as i can see, just because it has some t9, even tho that's not english AFAIK.

Maybe T9 Config works!? I know you have to reboot the phone everytime you change language, but if you want a "perm" English T9 then rebooting it once or twice wouldn't really be a problem.

Guys - can you just try something for me ? Before I did this update, I was using the "Changer Sonnieries" program to allow ringtones to be played from the Storage Card. Anyways.. now I've upgraded it's kiled it obviously, 'cus it wiped the IPSM.

Now.. all my sounds are still in the SD card in a folder called "My Documents" ... However - when I go to Settings->Sounds .. I can see them all, and choose them.. as ringtones / sms / email - the works...

Either ..

1) Changer Sonnieres is still running somewhere and I'm going mad or...

2) The new update allows for WAV's to be stored and played from the SD card "Storage CardMy Documents"

...can one of you check this for me just so I know I'm not losing the plot? :)

Oh - and if you're woried about your Eleksen keyboard, don't be - just grab the free driver from coolsmartphone and away you go. :o

Can i just ask is this ok to put on a standard english SPV or is it not recomended?

Kinda get the idea its being tried but cant gather if it is a good thing or not!

Neil I have it on a standard UK SPV

Gears I don't have that option but then again I did not lose my IPSM, I will do a Hard reset and see what happens,

This needed sometimes when doing updates as the update is not fully initialised until the IPSM has

been rewritten.

I understand you have it on a standard SPV. However, are their any draw backs ie lose GPRS settings etc. what are the benefits? would you recomend doing this or not? :roll:

I would not recommend using an update from another country and nor do the operators, then if you fry your

phone it's not my fault :)

From what I've seen so far this update is excellent, but if you use Orange Backup etc it's not for you

as those features ar not included.

I dont use orange backup but i also dont wanna fry my SPV. May wait a bit to install this one. It would not be so frustrating if I knew when the official update was coming!

Is this better/on a par with the e100's firmware?
