Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 The thermometer in the car is reporting 38 degrees here atm, and holy cow it's hot! :-O Have to stay inside and watch the community shield, come on ARSENAL! :) P
Guest Brody Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 One of the only times i'll cheer United! Our car reported 42 degrees last week when it had been sat in a car park in direct sunlight for a few hours!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 My phone was reading 35 in the shade yesterday with the thermo app.
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 My bedroom's not dropped below 28 degrees. I normally like it at 18! Have spent my days sitting next to a large fan in nothing but a pair of pants!
Guest fraser Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 He he, that's why they take real temperature readings in a while weather box. I get some crazy readings on my car as well.
Guest Vector Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 "]Have to stay inside and watch the community shield, come on ARSENAL! :) P Bet you wish you'd have gone uot now aye :o :( i wouldn't have liked to be playing football in this temperature :? PS: I support United :P
Guest PeeWee Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 I've been working on a roof in 42 all week

How many people on the forum are spending their sunday (hottest day of the year) sitting half naked by a fan? Be honest?
Guest Emad Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Family party thing today. Hot food. Sweat. Everywhere. Have been in my room coding all week - full of computers and nicely insulated :) Temperature has been about 40C throughout and my brain is thoroughly fried. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Well it was on the news, this is the hottest day on record. Heathrow was 37.4 degrees (the old record was 37.1)
Guest Palindrome Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 I'm afraid to sit on the plastic furnature in my garden in case it collapses under me.
Guest Vector Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 I'm afraid to sit on the plastic furnature in my garden in case it collapses under me. LOL :)
Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 How many people on the forum are spending their sunday (hottest day of the year) sitting half naked by a fan? Be honest? It's only been in the 80's here (Farenheit), not nearly as hot as there. But I sit naked in front of the fan anyway. But that's for entirely different reasons. :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Hmm, too much information? :) My house was hotter on Saturday than it was Sunday, still woke up sweating like a pig this morning though. Thank god for the wonders of 12" electric fans.
Guest fraser Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 I found keeping the windows shut overnight helped. House was only getting warm because of the warm air from outside blowing in. If you don't feel like getting naked in front of a fan, get your shirt and lift it up over the fan, so the air is blowing up inside it. Do that for 30 secs and you have to stop, otherwise you start shivering!!
Guest antz Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 How many people on the forum are spending their sunday (hottest day of the year) sitting half naked by a fan? Be honest? For most of the summer it was nice and warm here, with temperature in my room never dropping below 26, and usually at 28-30. It was nice and warm, and I could comfortably sit in front of my computer in my boxers. The fan was mostly to cool down my computer, it's not liking the heat very much. Now all the warm air seems to have drifted west towards you guys, and today it was horrible and raining and cold (22, 25 according to SPV), so I'm sitting here with the fan off, wearing a tshirt, and my computer enjoying the cool air.
