Guest m4rcus Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Hi, Has anyone else had any problems with the LED mod? I keep finding that it will stay falshing at 1s intervals even thought I have cleared the phone of the missed call or text etc... Only by turning the phone on and off will it revert back to the normal interval... Cheers Marc (Orange SPV e100)
Guest squall Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 not heard of this problem before but its not an easy one to spot, my phoneflashes at a pretty steady rate of 1 in every three seconds, even after i clear missed calls. also an e100.
Guest m4rcus Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Hi, the mod I am using is the one that is posted here somewhere that will change the flashing interval from the normal 1 every 3s to give you a visual warning of a missed call or the like without having to turnthe screen on, this is the 1 flash every 1s....
Guest kallep Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 same problem here..! when I switch on my phone it's nomal when i recieve a message or a call it begins but i wont stop.. the only way to get i stopped is to shut down the phone and turn it on again..
Guest PsychoDave Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Might be a good idea to ask Midnight. If I remember right it was him who made the mod. Best of luck, :)
Guest Will Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 FYI Midnight is currently 'offline' while he upgrades his ADSL, so don't worry if he does not respond to PM or thread requests. Will
Guest Brody Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 It is definately Midnight's work, I have chatted to him on irc about how the L.E.D. mod works and it is a time based mod that should stop when interrupted by a key press, however, i too have found this to not always be the case... F.Y.I. it would keep flashing longer than your phone could last on a single charge!
Guest mark_g_james Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 What it should do, as far as I can tell, is set the reg values in HKEY_Current_User/Control_Panel/Sounds/***/Script (where *** is the sound type, i.e. Email) to include an f1w999999f0 section. f1 == flash LED at 1 second intervals w999999 == wait 999999 (seconds?) f0 == normal flash (3 secs with network coverage etc.) In order to switch the flash off when you press any key it also adds an f0 to HKEY_Current_User/Control_Panel/Sounds/Keypress/Script. This is likely to be missing if your LED continues to flash after pressing a key, use a reg editor to have a look and put it back if needs be. Note that once you access the sounds settings menu this will probably be deleted in favour of a p, and your LED will continue to flash after you press a key. There is also an LED timeout key in HKEY_Current_User/Control_Panel/Notifications/LED, mine is set to 30. I have no idea what this controls however... :?
Guest m4rcus Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 I worked out a 'solution'. All you have to do is reinstall the mod, not the best method, but it does work. If you are one to change the sounds and upsest this mod, then you could copy the .cab file several times into the Install folder, giving each one a different name... it's only a small file to wont fill up you phone :)
