Guest Gorskar Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Looks nice - What would be really good is a homescreen plugin that interfaces with this software to tell you you local time on the homescreen + expected weather :)

Watch this space :o In the mean time, we welcome all comments & suggestions. Thanks for the support.
Guest tomesy Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 If it adds any weight - I to think the homescreen plugin showing the time in the 4 selected countries would be spot on too - in fact I would buy it for this functionality alone.
Guest FizzSoftware Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Yes it does add weight - the more users want something the harder we will work to get it to you. As for cost - this will probably not be charged for but part of a free upgrade - but please don't 'quote' me on that :)
Guest fraser Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 I love this app, bought it the day my trial expired. A homescreen thing combined with automated daily weather downloads would be very nice. 8) You guys considered incorporating news-feeds into it, such as RSS? That would be outstanding.

Guest fraser Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 Here's a thought....why not have the app make an all-day appointment for the current day that showed the weather in it's subject line. Then the majority of home screens will automatically display the weather without the need for any modification! Also, you would see todays weather in the "Outlook Today" view on the PC, as well as in the calendar for the coming days. That would trully be very cool, sheduling a meeting/outing and having the weather info as an appointment on that day. Deleting the past ones might be a good idea, but I can see some people wanting to keep a historical record I suppose.
Guest jonnyb Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 Fraser, You can already do this using the infuzer client (www.infuzer.com) the weather service is free, downloads forecast to your PC for selected town/city via Outlook then sync to your SPV calendar, I use a modified home screen showing all day event labelled as Weather...homescreen.gif
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 or something like the PocketPC's WorldMate by www.MobiMate.com where it displays on the homescreen as a plugin, a 3-day weather forecast of a home city.
Guest fraser Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 Just checked the www.infuzer.com site, charges 50p per month for the weather report. I'd rather have all the work being done on my mobile though...I don't dock and sync the phone every day. One thing I do think would be a pain would be the integration of a home-screen plug-in with peoples choosen skins. You'd need to either design your own homescreens newly for it, or offer advice on how to tweak existing ones.

The mcTraveller Pocket PC version currently shows the 5 day forecast & 4 world city times on the home screen. We intend to show this same information somehow on the Smartphone. As for cost - this will be a free plugin for all registered users of mcTraveller.
Guest battletank Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 I've bought this app, and I'm, generally, pretty pleased with it - I'm struggling, however, to work out how to change the secondary cities. I have London as my home city, but I cannot change New York, Rome and Paris as the second cities for world time, etc. The only way I can get a weather forecast for a different city is to make it my default (ie to replace London).
Guest FizzSoftware Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 I've bought this app, and I'm, generally, pretty pleased with it - I'm struggling, however, to work out how to change the secondary cities. I have London as my home city, but I cannot change New York, Rome and Paris as the second cities for world time, etc. The only way I can get a weather forecast for a different city is to make it my default (ie to replace London). Firstly, thank you for buying... When you are on the home screen, use the right softkey and pick London. This will actually say whatever the main home clock is set to. This will take you to the city select list. Pick a new city ( you can use the alpha pad to quickly jump to a section as the cities are alpha sorted ). When you have found the city, use the right soft key and pick select. The same works on the world time screen. The right softkey will show the four main cities, do exactly the same thing as above. If you want to add a new city to the database, go to the home screen and use the right softkey option Edit Cities. Add a new city and don't forget to use the city lookup feature to get the correct longitude/latitude & other info. City lookup also means you can then fetch weather for the new city. For more infor check the HTML docs installed on your PC's program menu. Hope this helps. Any problems, reply or use [email protected] Again, thanks for the support.
