Orange SPV won't hard reset

Phone is hanging on sunrise (or is it sunset) screen. Here's what I do to try and hard reset and here's what happens.

Battery out for 5 seconds

Hold down record and power on

Get the "Card Found" message

Get the "Press any key to enter bootloader" message

I hold down the action key

2 seconds later, the screen goes blank - and that's it!!!! Nothing else.

Please can someone help? Thank you!

Try it without the SD card and see if it lets you into the bootloader menu.

Remember to hold down the action key until the menu comes up.

Interesting :? what bootloader version do you have?

Normally you have to leave the card in as it slows the process down,

with the newer updates unless you have the card in it's very hard to get

the timing right to press the Action button.

e100 with 0.93 and 1.0 are a doddle, no card required.

I can access bootstrap in my sleep now, which is a good thing because a buggered rom update has caused me to do it, pretty much in my sleep, a million times!

V0.93 is the old (and still the best) bootloader.

This version was always the easiest to get into the bootloader

as for V1.00 yep they have slowed the process down (just checked) :) to be honest

I never really tried that hard with it because any update I apply I always

put V0.93 on imediately :o
