Guest amo Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 WTF - that looks awesome! Can you post how you accomplished this?
Guest vijay555 Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 :) Mitac software bundle is ARM compatible  I don't think Paul wants us linking to it, but it's been posted already. V
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 @vijay, I have downloaded ther Mitac softwares...can you tell me which app there is that? :)
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 thanks, vijay :) but the Mitac software I got doesnt have that Phone Menu  I only got the Metal Strike, Phone Explorer, Phone Backup, Phone City, Phone Reader, Java and Task Manager :o
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Ditto, no phone city and phone menu? P
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Ditto, no phone city and phone menu? wierd...I have Phone City but no Phone Menu.... do we have different downloaded Mitac files? Paul, is it not allowed if vijay post here the url where he got the Mitac files?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 I have phone menu installed, but can't find a shortcut...? P
Guest Lojt Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Download the 1.8 version from here: http://cordo.free.fr/spf/Mitac/ It has the phonemenu program.
Guest Lojt Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 OMG this is cool! After installing the PhoneMenu on the phone, not the SD card, click the one empty line on the homescreen, right below the clock... There is is :) edit: after trying it out for a while, it seems its not really worth installing if you havent got the mitac rom... there are no costomisation settings, the soft button shortcuts dont work and if you press the 'home' key you will be returned to the normal homescreen...
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Download the 1.8 version from here: http://cordo.free.fr/spf/Mitac/ It has the phonemenu program. Hmmm don't see PhoneMenu in either of the zipfiles on that site :?
Guest Lojt Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Hmmm don't see PhoneMenu in either of the zipfiles on that site :? You have to install the 1.8 program, just do it without having the phone in the cradle, goto program filesmitac something and copy all the cabs to a different location and uninstall the program again.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 It's a bit cack actually.... the City clocks thing is nice... P
Guest vijay555 Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 I agree, too slow. it can be customised but only by hard editing with a resource editor. If you install to sd card it's in Application DataHomephonemenu.exe Just looks pretty - makes our homescreen look clunky, but still, after a few seconds i went back to the original homescreen, see me beautiful work elsewhere... Oh, and once we know what the shortcuts link to, shouldn't be difficult to get phonemenu buttons to work. But still, not worth the effort, could emulate the same by using CallFace! Surprised no-one's done this yet.. Midnight? Nice to see what an OEM can do tho! Likewise, phonecity can be edited with resource editor to change backdrops, i find them too bling, but nice eye candy, and actually useful! Paul - have you figured out a way to get T9 english back yet?! qtek did wonders for my battery life, but missing t9  Take care! V
Guest vijay555 Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Oh, anyone figured out how to get phonereader to read off sd card? not sure where to put files. And if you get blocky crap when loading text files, remember you have to save files in Unicode (with notepad) to make them readable.. Someone tell me how to load text files pls! V
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Download the 1.8 version from here: http://cordo.free.fr/spf/Mitac/ It has the phonemenu program. thats where I got mine.....but in the zipped file, there is no" Phone Menu"
Guest Lojt Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 thats where I got mine.....but in the zipped file, there is no" Phone Menu" Read my previous post :)
Guest vijay555 Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 don't think the 1.8 version is hosted with full PC setup.exe. If you're all stuck, subject to Paul's hand of God, i'll post the exe later for phonemenu, unless someone else can do so sooner. Not really worth the effort tho! V
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Read my previous post :) there is indeed NO phone menu in that Mitac.zip file...it only contains 9 cab files.....no exe/ setup files...no phone menu file...i swear  I downloaded the Mitac.zip from http://cordo.free.fr/spf/Mitac/ you must have downloaded a different file. @vijay, thanks..I hope you can post it :o
