Tesco shopper idea

As there already is a tesco shopper application, which I assume downloads items and prices. Is there a way of utilising the IR port to scan the barcodes of items as you go around tesco's adding up the price for you????

I think this would be a great application, not sure if possible though.

Just an idea whilst I was shopping tonight and using the calculator on my SPV so as not to over spend.

Why not take the idea to TESCO direct? However I dont think the IR port is going to be able to read bar codes like that.
