Guest kl1wdr Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Hi Guys I got 2 Canary's here and the following problem: I wanted to unlock both of them....the first one worked, the second one did not... It had the latest 1.5 ROM so I downgraded to 1.3.6.22, read out the unlockcode and upgraded again to the newest QTEK-ROM 1.5....it all worked fine but now I cannot enter the unlock code....as soon as I have tipped in the SIM-Code it starts and before I can do anything it prompts me for the unlock code and says "The password is invalid. Please retry after 960 Seconds" even though I DID NOT type in any numbers.... What can I do to solve or bypass this problem...? PLEASE HELP ME.....!! :)
Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 I'm not an expert on this....just asking a question. Did you sim-unlock while you were on 1.3.6.22???? If so, then why do you have to sim-unlick again? I just unlocked my phone. Then upgraded to the Qtek 1.5 ROM. I did not have to sim-unlock again. If my scenario is the norm...maybe try the whole process again? Did the Qtek upgrade...upgrade your bootloader? You may need to downgrade your bootloader to .98 as I dont believe the SIMunlock software works above that.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 The Qtek update will take you to bootloader V1.07 (if I remember rightly, phone not at hand) That should not matter as you have been given the code already, but saying that it's best to unlock as soon as you have the code. Now your problem (unless it is because you have got carried away updating again before unlocking) could be this, when you start the phone up DO NOT press any keys, wait until it asks you to put the code in, this may take a few minutes. I had the same problem when I first tried entering the code, because it did not ask straight away I thought it was not going to. So it looks like there is a slight delay on asking but it also remembers some key presses you do. So a few key presses later it then asked to enter the code then displayed wrong code entered etc.
Guest Swift_gti Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 I unlocked mine last night and had the same problem, although the re-enter timer was only 30secs not 960. I hadn't touched anything, just pressed the power button to turn it on! :? But if you leave it, then after 30 secs, (or 960 on yours) you can re-enter the code no probs.
