Guest dewslat Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Well, this is a little weird but IT happened to me TWICE.. All of my files on the SD disk goes "mombo jombo"... some files arnt readable... Are this disks have some sort of problems with heat or anything that could destroy or make files unreadable? Well i hope it would still be reliable saving some files... i lost mine
Guest rodnav Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 i also have the same problem with my 256 mb Sandisk SD card. i sometimes have to reboot my phone (remove battery and SD card) just to be able to re access the data in my SD card. i've heard that there is a problem with Sandisk with regards to SAP and i've actually tried to reformat the card but i'm unable to do it with my SAP using taskmanager. i was thinking of reformatting it with a card reader but i haven't bought one yet. i may exchange my Sandisk card with a different brand altogether. anyway, let me know if you are able to solve your problem, it may help me too. by the way, i may be going to davao next month for a wedding, you're the one organizing that EB in davao right? but i'm having second thoughts, the trip is expensive. and my friend isn't sponsoring the plane ticket nor the hotel accomodations (kuripot! kahit anak ng congressman). what's nice to visit in davo? is it advisable to go there in this rainy season? thanks
Guest binky_p Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 rodnav, just been to davao...and the way i saw it , it wasn't dangerous (even during rainy days)...it would be nice if you could EB smartphone users in the area coz i think their planning to have it...better visit MTS or around Venue area or even Jackridge place...their nice places ...(if your plan pushes through)... :)

Download the USBTerm.exe Only Works with Win2000 - WinXP Connect the phone(Must be in the Canary Mode) to the Cable.. Disable the wcescom.exe in the process by an Alt+Ctrl+Del Run USBTerm.exe Type... qfs 10 If ur bootloader is 0.99 Type... password SMARTPHONEHTC qfs 10 Restart you phone and it will prompt you if you want to format the Card.. Select Yes!!! ENJOY!! :)

Guest mariolouis Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 have the same problem. i just take out the card then reinsert.
Guest rodnav Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 i bought a 512 mb Hagiwara SD card and this seems to be much better than the 256 mb Sandisk. It hasn't hanged and i haven't had to reinsert it. and Smartphone formatted in 2 secs. Still figuring out what to place in it.
Guest amo Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 How have you got -1 posts in off topic rodnav?

Guest Icecold Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 Hi guys is it normal that the smartphone only shows 241MB if I actually have a 256MB SD card in there (Sandisk). Im using that task manager from binarys to show how much MBs are left
Guest spv_dman Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 Hi guys is it normal that the smartphone only shows 241MB if I actually have a 256MB SD card in there (Sandisk). Im using that http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?t=7065>Task Manager from binarys to show how much MBs are left That's normal, I'm using 256 MB as well and only have 241MB when I check using taskmanager. The "missing MBs" are alloted to filesystem.
Guest Icecold Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 hey thanks a lot for the quick reply spv_dman. I've been felling cheated for the longest time about the missing MBs. =)

Guest dewslat Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 well, i havent thought about that yet but i dont see any format disk on the task manager... my theory is to change the system on the disk so that the phone would reformat the whole thing.. :)
