Guest mattscholey Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Hi, This is probably an idiot question I know, but I only got my phone yesterday, and I don't have a clue how you do this. On the top of the homescreen there's a link to the 5 SPV app's I'll probably never want to use. What I want to do is change these links to 5 SPV app's I will use - how do you do this? And how can I remove links for news, sport, gallery and downloads, and upcoming appointments, and is there anything I can put there instead? Also if anyone knows a good place for homescreen background images, please could they post a link. Thanks, Matt
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Each homescreen is indiviually created, if you feel brave you can try editing the xml and seeing what results you come up with. See www.smartphony.org downlaods section for a list of very nice homescreens. The icon's you are looking at are usually the "mru" or "Most recently used" list, although they are static on the default Orange home screen, try the default MS one to see the MRU in action. If you want info on edited the xml yourself, take a look at hte following link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....2homescreen.asp
Guest ferret Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 I think the static MRUs on the orange homescreen are actually shortcuts, you could just change the path and icons in the shortcut plugin inside the xml file. The file is located in the windows directory but can't remember it's name. ukspim/nomru.home.xml or something. You might have to copy it to IPSMApplication DataHome and rename it plus change it's attributes for it to work but don't quote me, I'm only a newbie
