jus one more q, how do you create goog quality gifs. all pictures i download from the net are jpg. when i save as gif.in paint they lose all there quality.

RE: It's easy, I use the right tool: Photoshop (5.5 or later) provide a powerful toll called 'Save for Web' which allow you to see the result of your compression. Furthermore it chose the best colors in your palette... And you can adjust the format, jpg, png, gif etc., the transparence for gif & png.

cheers tried coral photo, wouldnt let me save as gif :) then tried paint shop pro 6, had lying about on disc, work a treat.

now can start posting splashscreens.

What about ACDSee? Right-clicking on the picture wil give you an option to convert any picture format to another picture format including gif :)

.gifs can only have a maximum of 256 colours
