Just today I was doing some work and absentmindedly I put my phone on top of a rily big magnet. After around 10 seconds I realized what I did and I took it off in a flash. Will the magnet cause any damage to the phone? Cuz I heard from other ppl before that you shouldn't put electronics near magnets..tnx!

If your phone is still working fine then there should be no damage done :)

Normally you should not put anything that uses magnetic field to encode data near magnets, like floppy disk, creditcards, casette tapes, etc.

Cellphones normally have magnets inside them, the speakers and magnetic switch use for clamp shell type devices, so there is no reason for it to be damage by magnets.

Nothing to worry

You can buy mobile phone holders for the car that just use a magnet to attach your phone to, so it can't damage it that much! Smartphones could be different though?

as a rule of thumb, all gadgets that have memory components (ram, rom, cmos, etc.) inside it should not be exposed to powerful magnets.
