Guest theplayer Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Hi For the past week I have been unable to get any service on my SPV and quite often if I do a hard reset and following the reset I get a SIM failure. I have an additional SPV on my account for my partner, the other phone always has service and a good reception, so it cannot be the locality we are in. I have called O CS and am constantly been given the run around, technical support have not answered this query for 5 days. Has anyone else experienced this? and any suggestion on what to do would be a real help. Many thanks, Matt
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Did you by the phone new? if not are you sure the phone's not been blocked. Also try requesting a new SIM card from Orange.
Guest theplayer Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 The SPV came free direct from Orange when I started my contract, I have had it for approx 3 months. Spoke to O CS again and went mad at the CS assistant, apparently technical support can take as much time to deal with a query, the assistant said it could take 4 days, 4 week or even 4 months. Gettin really hacked off with O now  , love the SPV :) but without a service it is useless. Matt.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Have you tried your partners SIM in the phone? if you don't get the problem then it's the SIM not the phone Also have you tried gently wiping the SIM contact on the card and the phone, with a soft lint free cloth? May be worth a try as it could also be a bad connection.
Guest theplayer Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Sorry guys Should have mentioned that before, yes I have changed the sims to the others phone, mine works grand in the other phone, sim failure with my partners sim in my phone, which of course leads to the error being on my phone. Have told this to OCS but still no help from them. Matt
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Try to clean the contacts on the phone and see what happens.
