Guest Simon Desser Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 I recently installed a demo program, didn't like it, went to remove it, and the Remove Programs list was totally empty  Fortunately, I had a very recent back up of my IPSM, so I restored it :) I then installed a different program, and once again, "Remove Programs" was empty again :!: I again restored my IPSM, then uninstalled about 5 programs (old demos and things I never use) then I re-installed the two new programs, and my "Remove Programs" list was still intact. It therefore seems that there's a maximum amount of programs you can have installed before you lose the ability to remove them :!: NOT GOOD  (I know you can remove them on your PC with Active Sync, but I find this method sucks!)
Guest casper508 Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Hmm...interesting. Any idea how many programs you had installed?? I've had around 50 at most. Cas
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 How many programs you have installed? Looking at my Settings>Remove Programs, I got a total of 29 edit: @casper, woah! 50?!

Guest casper508 Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Surely ppl have had more. Remember that one mile long pic that Mono sent in once? Im sure he had more than 50. Cas
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Not all installed apps though, some were the "built in" ones. Something to test when you have a couple of months to install 50 app? :)

Im sure he had more than 50.Cas I've got more than 50, but not all "installed" as such. Don't forget if you place an "Exe" file on your card or your phone, and create a shortcut in your "Start Menu" it won't show up in "Remove Programs".

Yes, im only talking about the ones that show up in Remove Programs. Otherwise i've got around 80 (including the default ones) and 42 in the Remove Programs. Now to find another 8 :) Cas

Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 I have over 100 installed now, and my remove programs is empty... :) P
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 This nice little feature is probably the one thing about the SPV that annoys me the most at the moment!!! I hate it with all my heart!! A solution or a fix to this problem would make me a happy duck...
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Aren't the entries help in a registry key somewhere?
Guest blewer Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 I have always found after a hard reset the remove programs directory is empty. Maybe this is the cause??!!!??
Guest Vector Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 I have always found after a http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?p=97945#97945>Hard Reset the remove programs directory is empty. Maybe this is the cause??!!!?? That is because a hard reset removes all of your installed programs and returns your phone to the out-of-the-box state :)
Guest blewer Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 All of my applications are on my storage card though. Maybe if there was a program that searched the storage card for programs and gave you an option if you would like to add them to the removal list??
