Guest Siraris Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Ok first off, just set up the ability to get email from my exchange server through IMAP4 on my SPV. Mail comes in, but the problem is, I can't read it, or create a new email. I select new, doesn't do anything. I select open email, doesn't do anything. Has this happened to anyone else? I am using the default Inbox/SMS program that comes with the SPV. So my next question is, what is the best email client out there for the SPV? Basically just looking to synch emails while I'm on the go, read, and respond. Nothing too complicated, but I'd like it to have some nice features. Thanks :)
Guest shareef Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 so with the list of messages on the screen, if you scroll down to the one you would like to read, then press the center of the joystick, the message doesn't open??
Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 I have a similar problem when I download emails with large attachments included. May be a memory problem. For example I had an email with a 1MB picture attached. It was going extremely slow to almost locked. When I deleted the photo...It was fine. Try changing your email to only download a limited number of KB. As far as alternative clients...there are none so far as far as I know. (Check4Mail seems not to be a client but a program that allows you to set multiple email accounts that will all go into your one mailbox...I have not tried it.)
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Well I guess it might be a shot to try the javaapp emailviewer!?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 The UI sucks in comparison on that app Morf... P
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Very much .. but if he can't get it working the other way, it might be a worth a try.
Guest fraser Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 I've been using IMAP from day one without issues, but with the courier-imap one, not Exchange. I've got it set to only keep the last 7 days worth on the phone, and to download the first 5k of every message. I've never had a problem, except with wierd message formats, like microsofts proprietry one. You only see an attachment in the message in this case, and no text.
