Guest BoB-O Wireless Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Hello all, I recently got a MiTAC 8380 (YEAH!) and dropped in my T-Mobile USA SIM. It's really a nice phone, but I'm having the smallest touch of trouble and it's really annoying me. I have all the data stuff set up just fine (as described in the settings repository), however I cannot get to the T-Zones WAP page. I've tried http://wap.myvoicestream.com and wsp://wap.myvoicestream.com. Both of them give me a "Could not find the requested site" error. I can get to every other WAP and HTML site I try. Just T-Zones is giving me fits. Any ideas? Thanks, BoB
Guest jimsparkman Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Bob, I'm having the exact same problem here in the US on T-Mobile, but with an i-Mate Smartphone. I had this working while I was using an unlocked P800, but the only way I could make it work is by connecting to the wap.voicestream.com APN... and even then, could not use some of my other services, so ended up connection primarily to internet2.voicestream.com. I have yet to try this on my i-Mate. If you try it, please let us know how it goes. Thanks. Jim Sparkman
Guest jimsparkman Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Bob, by the way, can you tell me how you got your hands on the 8380? I might be interested in switching.... thx Jim Sparkman
Guest kcory Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Have you tried GPRS? I am trying to purchase an 8380 on T-Mobile (USA) and have read that they support GPRS for an additional $20/month.
Guest Kavok Posted September 14, 2003 Report Posted September 14, 2003 I'm having the same problem myself. I too have an 8380 and really like it. I tried to get T-Mobile's internet service in the US for $20/mo. but because of the way they do their credit checks, they wouldn't allow me to get it (weird if you ask me.) So I went with the T-zones thing for 6 months until they get their issues worked out. Of course since I didn't get the 8380 thru T-Mobile, they refuse to assist with configuring the thing to operate using T-Zones. If anyone has had success getting T-Zones to work with the 8380 I would be very interested in learning how to do it. I'm paying for the service after all. :)
Guest martin Posted September 14, 2003 Report Posted September 14, 2003 Here's a T-zones topic that should help. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=90013 and the related Yahoo topic http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...highlight=yahoo I will be interesting to know if T-zones will work on the mio 8380 too.
