Guest Jassper23 Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Hello po... i tried to upgrade my SAP using the qtek latest rom... ngayon 3 color canary nanaman :o.... then try to downdrage it using lower version it does not work got the error message 113.... and when using sap update from smart it say identification error even that is already set to 3 color canary screen... I also tried using the update for i-mate it does not work it only free using window 98 and XP any body know any steps that I can do fix this problem? Thanks :)
Guest spv_dman Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 What bootloader version do you see? If you see 1.04, then you have a big problem. Thats smart 1.50.28. In my experience with those upgrades, twas only 1.50.28 that doomed me. In such case you need to downgrade your bootloader to 0.9x then reinstall any rom except 1.50.28. Do a search within this forum to have an idea about downgrading the bootloader. :) Posted from my SmartPhone!

Yup i'm using that boot loader :o... only problem is i don't know any one using that boot loader. This is the second time that I got this problem...my first problem was fix from a wireless center but that will not update my rom to qtek update.
Guest spv_dman Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 No choice man. Until you find bootloader 0.9x and have it in your phone, your stuck with that smart rom. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Jassper23 Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 A quick fix would be to bring your phone to any smart wireless ctr then have the 1.50.28 rom reinstalled. Posted from my SmartPhone! Yup that will be my last option :o I just want to update my rom to qtek. Thanks SPV_MAN :)
Guest webdog Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Whats so great about the QTek update or shall I say whats different? Does the Qtek update re-lock the SAP as the Smart update does?
Guest mortenharkett722 Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 it made my phone sim-unlocked and the menu faster. Things that the smart update cannot.

This is based on the upgrade that I've done (0.99 bootloader, but anything lower is fine). "Also... can I keep this boot loader on my SD card so, I have back up of this file... thanks" - You can keep the bootloader. Problem is it will render your sdcard unuseable as storage card for smartphone files. You see it has a different format so you'll be prompted to reformat when switching between bootloader and OS. I suggest you acquire a separate card if you want to have a backup of bootloader, 8mb I think will suffice.
Guest mlkanapi Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 I hear you lose the English T9 function when you update using the Qtek 1.5 ROM. Is this true? Can you use the T9 Config utility to work around this? Thanks in advance

Guest spv_dman Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Nope. You have to chose whether to use or sd card as storage for bootloader or OS files like I mentioned earlier. Posted from my SmartPhone!

Guest spv_dman Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 sorry di ko nakita :o... btw mga mag kano 8 mb mc or sd card? thanks again :) I'm not sure kung meron pang 8mb card out in the market. Baka 64MB na ang minimum. You can always try to find 2nd hand if you want low storage capacity /cheaper price cards.
Guest jnqc65 Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 Pare, from where did you download your 0.9 bootloader? :?:
Guest spv_dman Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Go to threads for bootloaders 0.93 , 0.98 <--- click. You'll need an application called winhex and a card reader to transfer these bootloaders to your storage card.
