Guest fraser Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 OK, I was walking down the street listening to wma files (at high volume of course!), when the phone began to stutter and the volume went right down. Thinking it was an incoming call, I pulled the phone from my pocket and no call was there. The G icon within the signal indicator was lit though, so I assume it was checking my e-mail. However, now the phone is only as half as loud as it used to be. Not just in the headphones either, everything is down compared to what it used to be. Even on the loudest settings, the ring tone is very weak. Any got any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried rebooting and changing every volume option I can find (media player, normal volume buttons and the profiles), but nothing works. I'm not very happy about it, only got the phone two days ago through Orange care.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Moved to H&A apart from a hard reset are you sure you are not stuck on headset mode?
Guest martin Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Sorry Fraser I don't what causes the low volume but if its getting you down try this, it might help ease the pain. Guest fraser Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 LOL Martin. awarner, no it's not the headset profile issue. I've managed to miss that one completely, never had any problems with it. The volume is low on the headset as well, and the automatic switching is fine. Strangely, it was fine last night...until an incomming message came in and the problem was back again. V. Strange.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 I would try the Hard Reset recommended above. If that doesn't work, you may have a hardware issue in which case you could return it for a new one.
Guest fraser Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 I'll leave it for a week or two and see what happens. I only got this one through Orange care a couple of days ago and I reset it before starting using it. Just spent ages reinstalling everything, not to enthralled about the prospect of having to do it all again!!
Guest Lojt Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 I was like that on my phone till i did a hard reset... Didn't bother me much since i rarely listen to mp3's.
