***Phone Resets***

This is a really annoying problem but can't seem to find a solution in the forum. Simply my phone keeps reseting. I don't lose any programs or contacts, or even calendar events, but I lose all personalisation of the phone.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution?

How often is this happening and when you say "I lose all personalisation of the phone"

do you mean your homescreen etc resets to default?

If this is the case it sounds like the phone is doing a partial hard rest.

From my understanding it is doing a partial hard reset. It has happened twice in the space of 2 weeks, so i'm counting down the next 2.

By personalisation, I mean yes, I do lose my homescreen, and ringtones are reset etc.. But no data is lost. All the programs have to re-activated which is a pain.

Yep partial Hard Reset, what you need to do is try and find which app homescreen etc is causing this.

Or do you play with the registry?

I dont play with the registry at all. and I haven't loaded any new apps recently

What about homescreens? as dodgy XML can also cause this.

Just checking out stuff, where are you storing ringtones and homescreens,

In the main windows directory? or in IPSM/Application Data/Home and .../Sounds?

If they are in the main windows directory they will be removed whenever you power off the phone, or it gets to a very low battery level..

Happened to me on Friday - only previous occasion was about 6 months ago. Using Basic Light/Dark Text skins from this site. Have recently put on the following : Pocket MiniGolf / Traffic Counter SPE / Chess Genius / Total Soccer / Pocket Candy.... :idea:

First time it happened could have been when I first tried to install Pocket Candy. I couldn't get it to work and forgot it. About a week ago I decided to have another go and succeeded (was there a new version ?) These are the only 2 times I have used PHM Reg.Editor.

I love the screensavers so I hope this is a coincidence.

Unlocked again from Orange site within the hour but lost "personalisation" too - trying to find Activation Keys is a nightmare and I nearly drop-kicked the bugger into the nearest wall !
