Guest LardyC7 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Ive gone through the decert thingy on the orange site and have been made it through to the last web-page, when it says you should receive a message in 5 mins. However nothing happens. Ive tried reading through the various replies on other threads, and have only managed to confuse myself! :)
Guest PsychoDave Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Did you try connecting to another site thru GPRS while doing the unlock? That helped a few people if I remember right. Just go to orange home or something like that and try again. Good luck m8 and I'm sure you ain't a doofus :) Oh yeah and Welcome to the site
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Have you met the three conditions on the webpage, in particular that you have connected to the internet at least once using the phone, and that you have ROM version 1.3.5 or higher? If you have, just try again.
Guest LardyC7 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Cheers for the replys chaps. Ive been online, do i have to goto another site other than the orange one?Im on vers 1.35 :) thingy, but still no joy.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 According to Orange: PLEASE NOTE: Sometimes, the unlocking message has been delayed by as much as one day. We are working very hard to correct this problem, but we do not want to pretend that the delay has been fixed in all cases when it has not. Please bear with us while we deal with this unfortunate problem! PLEASE ALSO NOTE: If your unlock message has not gotten through to your SPV within a day, then please send an e-mail to [email protected]. In this e-mail, please include the following pieces of information: * Your name * Your SPV's IMEI number (type "*#06#" from your Home Screen) * The mobile phone number of the SIM inside the SPV * A business hours contact phone number We can then investigate what is happening to your unlock binary SMS message, and fix it. Btw, is it an SPV or an SPV E100? I shouldn't think it makes a difference, but perhaps there is a slightly different procedure for an E100.
Guest martin Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Make sure that you can use the internet connection with GPRS. Can you connect to http://www.modaco.com/mobile from your SPV (with small G in top right)- if so then this is good because the App unlock uses the same data connection. Are you putting +44 in front your mobile number and missing out the 0. I usually disconnect any GPRS sessions on my SPV and when I have input my details into the unlock application, I watch for the small G automatically appearing on my phone. Usually this occurs straight away bit it once came through about an hour later.
Guest LardyC7 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Martin, ive got the small g in the top right. But how do i input web pages manually? Ive also emailed orange re the previous post.
Guest martin Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 just go to Internet Explorer - menu - Add favourite Put any Name (ie MoDaCo the Great) In the address put http://www.modaco.com/mobile. Note: you need to put the full address including http:// and keep the # pressed down if you need the symbols menu (to get : or /). Do you get the small G (top right) on your SPV after you enter the details in the Orange application unlock program ?
Guest LardyC7 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Ive got the small g in the top right. Does my phone have to be docked or undocked or doesn't it matter?
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 The small "G" above the reception indicator tells you that you've got a GPRS connection active, i.e. you're connected to the internet by GPRS (as you are required to HAVE done before decertifying). The slightly larger "G", to the side of the reception indicator means that a GPRS connection is available. Your phone should be displaying this, but must have displayed the former at least once before. It doesn't matter whether it's docked or undocked, just as long as it's got 3 bars of reception.
Guest LardyC7 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Cheers for the help boys. Do i have to be connected to the gprs as im trying to de-cert?
Guest LardyC7 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Then why wont this bloody thing work???? :? Thanks in advance. Im getting right through to the end screen telling me to expect a message yet none arrives.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 I think you'll just have to wait for the reply from Orange.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 You can also use Pass Through to decert, as I don't have GPRS enabled it's the only way I can decert with the newer updates.
Guest ashley.flynn Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 mine took 4 days to come through
