I have an SPV which I wanted to run on T-mobile so attempted the unlocking. TO do this I tried applying the update first bit it went a bit nasty and all I get now is the Canary Screen. Thenks to all for previous advice but I am now getting the opinion that I have managed to totally kill the poor blighter. Whatever I do the Canary Screen (v.093) is displayed but there's no update capability and I cant get a Hard Reset or anything else to run. Any last thoughts before I consign this to a cupboard...?

Really frustrated by all accounts 'cos the phone looks great for what I want!

Any advice REALLY appreciated - very desperate to bring this back to life!

Have you tried running the update again with the phone on the canary screen? What happens when you do?

You could also try connecting your cradle to a different usb port, strange but it helped a few people.

Any more info you could give us might make it easier.

Yep -- tried running the update again - it confirms that I want to overwrite files on the PC HD which I say yes too, then brings up the 'Updating bar' (the one which warns you not to stop it whilst it is still running) but then just (seems to) hang with absolutely no sign of progress on the pc or phone... any other info useful?

Which update are you trying to run?

Is there another one you could try?

Have you swapped usb ports?

When you say you cannot do a Hard Reset are you getting the press anykey option and

it's going to Canary too quick?

If so try doing a Hard Reset with the storage card in.

I would suggest you try the UK update from www.monolithix.org

this has bootloader V0.98 which will be fine for SIM unlocking

trying to apply the update [orange_uk_spv_update.exe] from monolithix but cant work out whats going wrong -- i'm @ the canary screen and start the update running but it just sits there after the initial dialog box which warns you not to disconnect the phone whilst the update is happening. Can anyon tell me what I should see? Ta, dan

I get the same thing, to fix it I have to keep the phone on the Canary screen and plugged into the

PC then reboot the PC before trying the update again.

try the imate updates.

i tried to downgrade to 1.38 and fried my e100. tried every update from the canary screen, but the only ones that held were qtek 1.38, and then from there upgraded to imate 1.5. never did get an orange update to work...
