Guest Palindrome Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 I have several files on my Windows XP (Home) which I would like to transfer to a Mac (situated many miles away). Ideally I'd like to burn a PC formatted CD and have the Mac read the files but if anyone knows of a way to burn Mac formatted CDs on my PC then that would be a acceptable solution. I've also thought about FTPing but since I have about 500MB of PDFs it would be unpractical. So I bow to the cumulated knowledge of the many great professionals of this forum in the hope of an answer to my dilemma! Cheers for any help.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Try TransMac. It's shareware that can be registered for $65, but I don't know what the limitations are of the unregistered version.
Guest mores Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 what operating system does your mac use? i can burn pc cdroms and pop them into my powerbook using mac-os X and read them without any problems. macs are a lot more forgiving in that respect.
Guest Palindrome Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 It certainly looks like Macs have much better PC support than PCs have Mac support. I don't know which operating system the Mac has but I imagine it will be OS9. I'm trying to plan for all eventualities as my time will be limited. Virtual PC would be the best solution at the moment so here's hoping that it's installed!
