People, I upgraded my ROM from SAP 1.37 to the latest of QTEK. The upgrade went off successfully except I cannot send MMS though I can surf the web. Can anyone give me the complete GPRS and MMS setting for Smart?

I haven't tried using SMART WAP, it's the default setting from the SMART ROM 1.3.7.8. As with the HTTP and SOCKS settings, I used the CD ROM that comes with the SAP to configure it to use passthrough internet through a corporate firewall.

hello, i know this has been asked a lot of times already, but im getting desperate, so here goes hehehe:

i recently upgraded to QTek 1.50 rom and lost all GPRS and MMS settings ;) . . . i followed the GPRS/MMS settings in the smart website but i cannot browse wml/html sites properly (the only site i was able to visit is the www.google.com) , also i cant send/receive mms . . .what am i doing wrong? help pls? Thanks! :)

spv_dman, thanks for the link. I followed everyting, I have set up a Smart WAP Proxy in the Proxy connections, but i still cant send/receive MMS. . . I have also sent 'GPRS ON' and 'MMS ON' requests to 333 (but i know I have already been able to send MMS before) . . .I currently have a Globe WAP Proxy set up in the Proxy connections. . .should I remove it? Thanks!!! :)

Can someone help me bring back my Automatic & Pass Through connections at the Data Connection Screen, specifically sa Work Connection & Secure Wap Connection?

In my Proxy Connections, I only have Smart Wap Proxy. Before the upgrade, I remember that I had 3, i.e., HTTP..., Smart Wap & SOCKS connections.

I upgraded to Qtek but wasn't able to back-up my settings kasi.

Baka naman pwede kayo mag post ng Globe GPRS/MMS settings, kc nag change na ako from smart to Globe e. TIA

try the Articles Section from the Forum Index... look for the GPRS/WAP/MMS Settings Repository...I think Globe is in page 2.

These are the DEFAULT GPRS & MMS Settings of Smart ROM 1.3.7.8.

Works on QtekROM 1.50.9.1 :wink:

Copy the settings as shown...

still have the same problem. can't use gprs or smart mms. error is unable to place a call. shouldn't there be a dial up setting for smart? coz there is in globe.

Weird, I am also having troubles. Switched from globe to smart but i did a hard reset then set up all the settings the way its described here. I never had a single problem setting up globe before. Mine would connect but it will take forever to load until it eventually says page cannot be found

how abt settings for internet explorer? I really cant get this to work properly. yesterday I can browse clickthecity but it connects a lot longer than my globe's free access. Is it normal? I thought smart gprs was faster since it is being charged.

On the settings of IE, did you tick the automatically detect settings? I also chose Wap Network.

Anyone using QTEK 1.5 with working GPRS? I follwed the instruction posted ont his thread, ayaw talaga. MMS works, GPRS can connect pero when it finds a site, it finds it forever, ie wap.yahoo.com then if i wait, it will eventually say page not found. Any idea>?

i'm using qtek rom and have these settings;

SMART MMS

On the home screen, press the Programs soft key, press More to move to the next page.

Press Accessories then select MMS Setup by pressing the Action button.

Provide the following data on the required field, press Ok when done.

First field: MMS connection

IP: 10.102.61.46

Port: 9201

MMSC Address: http://10.102.61.238:8002

Message Expiry: 1 day

MMS Download: Auto

On the home screen, press the Programs soft key, press More to move to the next page.

Press Settings, select Data Connection.

Press the Menu soft key then select Edit Connection by pressing the Action button

Select GPRS Connection. Press Menu then select Add by pressing the Action button

Provide the following data on the required field:

Description: MMS connection

Connects to: MMS Connection

Access point: mms

When finished, press Done four times.

SMART GPRS

On the home screen, press the Programs soft key, press More to move to the next page.

Press Settings, select Data Connection

Press the Menu soft key then select Edit Connection by pressing the Action button.

Select GPRS Connection. Press Menu then select Add by pressing the Action button.

Provide the following data on the required field:

Description: Smart GPRS

Connects to: The Internet

Access point: internet

Press Done three times. On the Data connection, select Smart GPRS under Internet connection. When finished, press Done.

SMART WAP GPRS

On the home screen, press the Programs soft key, press More to move to the next page.

Press Settings, select Data Connection.

Press the Menu soft key then select Edit Connection by pressing the Action button.

Select GPRS Connection. Press Menu then select Add by pressing the Action button.

Provide the following data on the required field:

Description: Smart WAP GPRS

Connects to: The Internet

Access point: smart1

Press Done three times. On the Data connection, select Smart WAP GPRS under WAP connection. When finished, press Done.

Guys, help i am experiencing the same problem. B4 nmn nagwowork to, si Mario pa nga nag set up ng GPRS at MMS settings. Thn just 2 days ago i hard reset my fon, tapos eto na ung problem. i can't even send and receive SMS but i can accept and make calls calls.

ano po problem ko. i followed evry sigle settings posted here but to no avail. wahhhh...help guys.....

nawawala talaga ang GPRS and MMS settings after a hard reset. sundin mo na lang ang mga steps above.

bragil i have exactly the same settings, its really getting annoying. I never had any problems with globe gprs. (MMS with smart works fine)

whats the settings on your Internet Explorer? I dont know if this would matter but I am using webwapselect and chose wap because ive been using this with globe gprs

all i want to access is wap.yahoo.com and it cant go there :lol:

it can connect all right but then it will say Finding Site for like 2-3 mins then it will say The Page you are looking for cannot be found :D
