I tried to connect the to the MSN Messenger in my SAP but I cannot connect. This afterrnoon I received an email from .NET Messenger Service When I followed the link it said that I have to make an update but under the update for PocketPC and Smartphone, there is no available update yet and we have to contact our service provider. Can anyone clarify this, people from Smart?

i used my 1.37 (my officemate's) and qtek 1.50 (mine). both were ok. what about yours? maybe gprs signal is slow in your area. i know this may sound strange but sometimes when it is slow, it gives unusual (stupid) errors. try pass through.

I've been refceiving these as well.

To only one of my Hotmail accounts though :-/

Links appear to be ok.

Others are getting them as well by the looks of the microsfot newsgroups.

I've email hotmail and msn to see if i can get a response.

I'll also keep an eye on the newsgroups...

Will let you know if I hear anything...

Well then...

Finally got an answer.

Apparently these email are genuine.

Personally I thought they were anyway seeing at the links were legit or at least the best fake ones i've ever seen.

I've been assured by Jonathan Kay a Messenger Associate Expert.

This is what he said...

"This is a *legit* message from Microsoft. If you are using Windows Messenger 5 however, you may be receiving these, you can just ignore them as you will not be prevented from signing in when the older versions are stopped."

So there you go... panic over...

i dont have any problems using it pero i just wanna know how much it would cost for example u have a 1 hr session? kse super nabigla ako sa bill ko..umabot ng 1000+ for about 52 minutes pero eto lang ang nareremember ko na ginawa ko. I also disabled the pictures and sounds sa IE para di ganong mahal and i dont surf much pero ang laki ng bill ko.. one or 2 sites lang ata ang navisit ko. D ba we only pay per kb that is transmitted? bakit ang mahal...? di ba nila sinasama pag may gprs connection ka pero nakastandby ka lang?

that's strange. maybe you were conected via CSD instead of GPRS. When you were connected, did you see to little G (not the big G at the center of the menu bar)on top of the signal meter?

Mine GPRS will sometimes go down. Hangs when trying to connect to messenger or using IE.

Turngin the radio off and back on or a reboot normally does the trick.

When you view a website, you don;t only receive data... you also transmit data... add all of these up and you get your total cost.

With MSN Messenger, ou can stay connected all day and it won't cost you anything except for the notifications you get whe someone logs in and sends you a message... or when you send them a message.

MSN messenger works out just fine.

For sending and receivng (upload/download) via the GPRS connection, the rates are the same .25/kb for you. :)

how many kilobytes are used when connecting to MSN Messenger? The usual message sent costs? If it costs lesser than sending text, then it is very good substitute to text messaging and fone calls.

Im not exactly sure, cant keep track of it. but you may actually count the number of kilobytes sent and received using this application GPRS COUNTER from all-locations .click here.

you may even customise subscription @ .25/kb in that way it may autmatically convert to Monetary amounts.

for your info.

hope this helps
