Guest tobyfield Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 went to make a call about 30 mins ago and I pressed the unlock key as I normally do. Nothing happened. Pressed a few more keys but nothing. Thought it was strange as the light in the top-left was flashing. Took the battery off, reconnected and turned the phone back on again. Starts to boot up, but as soon as it changes from the smartphone 2002 startup screen to the home screen, you see half and half and you can't do anything. Tried taking the battery off for longer periods and rebooted but still the same. Help please?!!
Guest squall Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 erm sounds like hard resets in order, sorry!

Guest tobyfield Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 that's not too much of a problem but I can't remember how to do one. I will search the forum now.

Guest tobyfield Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Thanks guys for the ultra quick responses! :)
Guest tobyfield Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Performed the hard reset (twice in fact) and still no joy. When it boots up, it goes to the screen where it asks you to put your sim password in and you cant press anything. Tried rebooting (removing the battery) and a second hard reset. Still no joy! Any ideas? Do I need to phone orange? Can I get it relaced under Orange Care?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Yes and Yes Sounds like you may have a stuck key :) but as you have O Care it is worth phoning them up.
Guest tobyfield Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Thanks again for another quick reply! :) Shame about the SPV
Guest tobyfield Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Just spoke to Orange care. Took 12 mins in total after they said they had no diagnostic for my problem. They will be replacing it tonight (20th) between 6-10pm. Not to bad. :) P.S. The operator told me that if the phone does come back on, to remove all contacts etc. I had already told her that I'd performord 2 hard resets! :?
