Guest MR_E Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 I'm looking for a way to change the name of the network I'm on. Vodafone in the Netherlands used to be called Libertel. The phone I used previously with this SIM (R520m) 'learned' the new name during a software upgrade by Ericsson. The same SIM in my SPV only shows the old name. So I assume the network name is stored on the phone. I have been looking for the location this name is kept, but unsuccessfully, so far - it isn't in the registry, and not in the XML files I've checked sofar. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Guest greg7901 Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 id like 2 know this too...im on O2...and some phones say O2-UK, but the SPV still says BT Cellnet :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 This should be fixed in future OS updates (UK 1.6 displays O2-UK).
Guest MR_E Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 Good to hear this will be 'fixed' (until the next rebranding of a network, of course...) in ROM 1.6. But still: does anybody know where the names of the networks are stored? There must be a table somewhere in which 'network IDs' are linked to a network name...
