Guest DrFingers Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Hi there I have an Orange SPV and am trying to install Doom SPV onto it, I have a 64mb card, but whenever I install it, it says that my phone is running out of memory. So I choose the SD Card and get the same message ( even tho I haee 45mb of space free ) Could anyone help? I Know its probably pretty obvious, but i'm new Paul
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Ok first of all how are you installing Doom? and where did you get it from? The main reason I ask is that someone made a dodgy .cab version and hosted it without permission. Be warned that this .cab will only install to the phone even if you choose Storage card for the install. For the Original version that includes instructions go to the the authors MBoden's site http://www.bodenhoff.com/spv/doom.html
Guest DrFingers Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Thankyou very much It came down as an EXE and WAD file ... I think I need just the CAB file as I don't have a USB Dock @ the moment If I don't need the CAB, where do I put the EXE and WAD file in order to make it work Paul
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Right unfortunately you need the phone to be connected to the PC. Ok on your Storage card you need to have a folder called DoomSPV Indide this folder you will have the DoomSPV.exe file and another DoomSPV folder inside of this second DoomSPV folder you have the DOOM1.WAD file If you download from the link I gave all the above is done for you. After that all you then have to do is copy the .exe file and paste a shortcut in IPSMWindowsStart MenuGames
Guest DrFingers Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Thankyou very much .... it works superbly!!!! I suppose if I download a game from Hexacto it comes as an EXE which I have to use ACTIVESYNC with Is there anywhere where I can pay and download a CAB or file like this Many thanx Paul
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 There are some cabs you can download direct but it's best to save them to the PC first as any cab you download and install on the phone will be deleted after instalation.
